Year Of The Knife recently announced their upcoming album, ‘No Love Lost’, and they’re sharing another crushing new single ‘Your Control’. Due out October 27th from Pure Noise Records, the release finds band at its most sonically honed with nine lean and vicious songs that clock in at a blistering 20 minutes. Recorded by Kurt Ballou (Nails, The Armed, Code Orange), LP sounds truly massive, an amalgam of hardcore and death metal influences that demands your attention and stays with you long after its concise runtime. ‘Your Control’ follows earlier singles ‘Wish’ and ‘Last Laugh‘ and offers another taste of the aggression found on album. The song piles on inventive riff after riff, each one more satisfyingly crushing than the last. In late June, the band was involved in a car accident while on tour. All four members endured serious injuries, especially vocalist Madison Watkins, who suffered many broken bones and a traumatic brain injury. ‘No Love Lost’ sounds even more urgent and defiant in light of the band’s recent circumstances, and profits from the album’s sales will be going directly to the members’ ongoing recovery efforts.
