Volcom presents Damn AM Cascais // Portugal in association with Skatepark of Tampa
Salad Days

Europe’s premiere amateur street skateboarding competition has a new home this year at Parque de Geraçoes, Portugal on July 18-20, 2014. With the closure of the Skatepark of Amsterdam, Damn Am is moving South to the sunny summer skies of Portugal.

Parque das Gerações is a outdoor concrete skatepark located next to the busy beaches of the North Coast of Lisbon in São João do Estoril. This park offers endless possibilities for all styles of skateboarders. With the setting set for an epic event, get ready for a great taste of summer vibes and good times. Damn Am Cascais is destination event not to be missed! Damn Am Cascais will be broadcasted live on www.volcom.com
Like all Damn Am Events, there are 12 spots that qualify you for the prestigious Tampa Am which is noted as the International Finals in Florida(USA), December 2014. Damn Am Cascais also has an overall prize purse of 10,000 Euros that adds icing on the cake for a perfect event.

ABOUT DAMN AM
Brian Schaefer and Rob Meronek created the Damn Am series as they noticed that there was a need to bring the Tampa-style Am contests to skateboarders outside of Tampa (Florida). If you can’t get into Tampa Am directly through your sponsor, entering a Damn Am is the only official way to qualify for the prestigious Tampa Am. Basically the “flavor” of the Tampa contests is taken to locations around the world. The first Damn Am started in 2001 at the Volcom Warehouse in Costa Mesa, California and has been going strong ever since. In 2006,Volcom decided to help take the Damn Am series over the pond and the Amster- Damn Am was born and has been etched into the schedule as a yearly event. In addition to a damn fun time, the Damn Ams have assisted many amateurs with getting noticed on their way to professional careers. To say that most of today’s top pros have skated in a Damn Am Contest is not a stretch of the truth at all. In fact, with most of the industry watching at these events, it’s not difficult at all for a stand- out skater to pick up a new sponsor and gain some notoriety.

Volcom Entertainment.
Founded on a snowboarding trip in the winter of 1991 by Richard Woolcott and Tucker Hall, the Volcom idea would incorporate a major philosophy of the times: «Youth Against Establishment». It was also the first time that surf, skate and snow were brought together under one brand from its inception and «America›s First Boarding Company» was born. Our products (which include streetwear, boardshorts, denim, swimwear, footwear, acces- sories and outerwear) incorporate a distinctive mixture of fashion and function combi- ned with quality, comfort and athletic performance. With designs for men, women and youth, we strive to responsibly make meaningful product that not only exemplifies our lifestyle, but enhances the ability to live it.
