VNA magazine reaches milestone with issue 25
The UK’s premier international street art, graffiti and art culture magazine, Very Nearly Almost, has hit a landmark 25th issue!
Founded in 2006 as an independent black & white ‘zine, VNA has grown into a full-colour institution of a publication. Receiving love and support the world over from artists, galleries and fans alike, this will be the biggest, most jam-packed issue to date. Featuring work from the illustrative brilliance of Kevin Lyons, the amazingly evocative work of Chloe Early, and incredible talent of Dan Kitchener, their work sits alongside a couple of Antipodean artists – tattooist and painter, Sprinkles, and the skate-punk skull-thrasher, Ben Brown.
Also a photo feature from Nils Müller keeps all bases covered, as well as our regular city spotlights on street stickers, paste ups and spray-painted spots, this time amongst the bright lights of London, Hong Kong and Łódź. VNA takes a detour through the awesomely autonomous Nelly Duff gallery in east London to get an inside line on how the street art scene has developed over the years, and hear how they keep things fresh. We also check out the unique talents of Erosie, as he reviews his most important works to date, have a look at Nick Sheehy’s illustrious illustrations and takes a peek at the girl-powered graffiti of Japan’s Shiro.
The icing on the cake for this issue is undoubtedly Swoon. VNA bring you a full interview, exclusive studio shots and an incredible insight into the projects she dedicates most of her time to. From helping rebuild Haiti, to putting a new roof on a church with her Braddock Tiles project, Swoon is sure to inspire. As usual, no issue would be complete without an artist-designed, limited edition screen-printed cover, so be prepared to get down to the launch party in London to pick up your copy. Hits stores February 6th. Pick up a copy from WHSmith, Tate modern/Britain, Magma, and other good magazine stores in the UK. Plus get the VNA exclusive (second cover) from www.verynearlyalmost.com
Save the date: Feb 13th. More details on the launch party at Far Rockaway to follow.
