Vans “Off The Wall” Spring Classic – New location, New Teaser!

Vans “Off The Wall” Spring Classic – New location, New Teaser!
Salad Days

In just one month’s time, Vans’ infamous “Off The Wall” Spring Classic heads south to the Bay of Naples, bringing a little taste of the Southern Californian lifestyle to the original city of Naples.

Not to be confused with Naples, Florida, which is full of pensioners, tacky condos and is perhaps somewhere you’re more likely to get tasered for skateboarding, than handsomely rewarded with a comedy sized cheque. Over the past six years, the event has steadily grown from a grass roots mini ramp comp to one of the most anticipated events of the year. The Vans “Off The Wall” Spring Classic now sees many of the top international mini ramp skateboarders packing their speedos and sunblock for a weekend of sun, sea, sandy bearings and some damn fine music. Whilst the scale of the event has undoubtedly grown, it has certainly not lost its spirit, with having a good time remaining firmly at the top of the agenda. Last year, skaters such as pint-sized Dutchman Daan Van Der Linden were making the most of the impressive mini ramp set up, whilst Dannie Carlsen‘s ridiculously good flip combinations saw him walk away with the title. With an improved ramp, bigger prize pot and a new location, this year’s Vans “Off The Wall” Spring Classic is bound continue the tradition of awesomeness.

Watch it now:

Missed Teaser #1:

Naples, Italy
May 9th – 11th

If you get tired of watching the best mini ramp skating the world has to offer, you can go and get inspired by Vans Ink Art, where you can check out a unique exhibition of sneakers that have actually been tattooed by some of Italy’s finest inksmiths. After that, you can pick up a handsome Vans “Off The Wall” Spring Classic t-shirt from the market place, then get it covered in hair, courtesy of the fine barbers of the AONO x HBAD Family, who’ll be on hand to get you looking as sharp as their cut-throat razors. No Vans event would be complete without Waffles, so you’ll find the legendary Vans Waffle Stand there too, amongst other foody options. The Fiat Freestyle Team will be parked up on the beach, too, showing you the ultimate way to arrive at that hard-to-get-to DIY spot (in a 4X4 Panda, obviously), and Epiphone will be making a noise with their awesome guitars. On the noise front, the familiar Monster Stage will be back once again, with a very special headliner confirmed. Unfortunately, we’re not going to tell you who it is just yet, so keep an eye on the Vans “Off The Wall” Spring Classic event page for news, updates and more information.

See you in Naples!
