TOLEDO ON TOP AND KIKAS RUNNER-UP AT ALL TIME J-BAY
Days as a pro surfer don’t get much better than today.
Portuguese powerhouse @Frederico Morais took on a giant of the CT, going up against Brazilian wildman Felipe Toledo in a final that can only be described as a Super Final.
With conditions that are about as near to perfect as you could get, the legendary Jeffery’s Bay point break delivered impossibly perfect 8-9ft waves and really turned up the heat for the finals day. Felipe took the win in the end, with incredible surfing and the two have nothing but respect for each other after such an incredible event.
“Getting into a final in my rookie year is unbelievable. I’m stoked with my performance and to go up against Toledo in the final is amazing. It’s incredible to represent Portugal in an event like this, carrying the flag to the podium. I’m so proud of my country and proud to be on the World Tour representing Portugal. This year I was focusing on staying on the World Tour and make an impact. It all came together at J-Bay and it’s just amazing to have gotten this far.”- Frederico Morais.
