The Good Sin presents ‘Life Before’
For fans of golden age hip hop, real storytelling, diverse production and unique voices…
“When I started this project I wanted to tell a story of a young man growing up in a modern world & all the interactions that shape his view of the world. The choices he makes & how they affect those around him. In the process I began evaluating my real life scenarios. I wrote songs that were & are a reflection of who I’ve become today. I wouldn’t be who I am without these experiences, these people, these stories. ‘Life Before’ is my story, your story, our story.”
“The first official single off of ‘Life Before’ is ‘Promise Me’. A tale of loyalty, love, maturation, and coping with change. I wanted to tell the story of a young man finding himself in the midst of the relationships that have made him who he is. The friends who always had his back, or the first woman he loved who understands he might not always belong to her. Imagine the neighborhood kid done good and finally leaving the hood. Ready to see the world, share it with the ones he loves, and what changes his relationships might have because of his burgeoning success. The promises that he is asked to keep in spite of his distance from home are what keep him grounded no matter how far he goes.”
