‘The Best Kiss Of My Life’ – In his new book, author Stefan Frommann explores the incredible world of Kiss and their fans
Kiss is a unique rock band. They have an army, a navy, and the craziest fans in the world. Journalist Stefan Frommann has been a loyal follower for 48 years.
He saw almost 100 concerts, met Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley for personal interviews, he was backstage and in the recording studio with Simmons. In ‘The Best Kiss Of My Life’, he tells the stories of 30 fans from 16 countries, each a special KISStory, unique and emotional. The reader enters a magical world of collectors, tattoo lovers, creatives, imitators, insiders, and rebels. Those who love Kiss will find themselves in it. Those who have not known Kiss before will be amazed at a world they would not have thought possible. For example, there is Mike Hodson from England, who owns 167 different copies of Kiss‘ debut album, or the German Michael Berger, who spent 15 years in the “lion’s den” as Gene Simmons‘ “private concierge”. Steve Mitchell from Las Vegas marries couples while looking like Paul Stanley, and Jonathan Douglas from San Diego, who is adorned with Kiss tattoos, have similarly incredible stories to tell. Frommann tells them – and many more – in his book.
In addition to these passionate fans, insiders and other Kiss legends are featured with exclusive interviews, among them Gene Simmons, who talks about crazy experiences with fans. Producer Bob Ezrin, guitarist Tommy Thayer and Jordi Ballera, who teaches brand management at the University of Madrid using Kiss as an example, and many more also share their stories.
