DEAD FADER
‘work it, no’
(ROBOT ELEPHANT RECORDS)
Release date: 30th July 2012
Format: 12” / Digital
Robot Elephant Records are proud to present ‘work it, no’, a new EP by Berlin-based synthesizer extremist Dead Fader. The release represents another milestone in Robot Elephant’s mission to nurture innovative and sometimes challenging electronic music talent. The 4 tracks span experimental, grinding post-industrial dubstep and techno with touches of woozy, codeine-drenched hip hop. Intelligently distressed synths and deteriorated samples tap into your innermost cerebral hemispheres while unapologetic dread noise blasts through your core. Past releases include the album ‘Corrupt my Examiner’ and the EP ‘Autumn Rot / No Thief’ on the excellent 3By3 label as well as the EP ‘Luckeeey’ on the German label Tigerbeat6. Under his guide John Cohen, Dead Fader also produced ‘Tar River’, an epic set of 20 minute noise chunks on the Broken 20 label. The 12″ EP comes in full colour sleeves with artwork provided by Japanese artist Fumihiko Yokouchi. The vinyl has been skilfully mastered and cut by Frank Merritt at Carvery Cuts in London, capturing the best possible range and dynamics of the music to represent the Dead Fader sound. See Dead Fader live together with Cindytalk and Necro Deathmort in the intimate confines of Dalston’s Power Lunches on July 6th. “Dead Fader constructs savagely abrasive dance tracks from molten blocks of noise and distortion… your average Dead Fader track is a masterpiece of control, prying open a porthole into the yawning void whilst keeping a few toes carefully planted on the dancefloor.” – The Quietus
