Inching closer to the release of their debut album, ‘Steps Ascending’, on June 14th, Long Island, NY based band Stand Still share the fifth single ‘We Know The Score’. The track leads off with a bouncy riff before breaking into a fast, melodic hardcore assault. Vocalist Gerry Windus’ sung delivery is complimented by a more in-your-face feature from Pain Of Truth vocalist Michael Smith. Speaking on the message behind the song, Windus shares:

“These lyrics are an ode to self-reflection. One can’t place judgment on others without being able to identify their own faults, and sometimes those faults aren’t so surface-level.”

Around the release of ‘Steps Ascending’, the band has a packed tour schedule for Spring and Summer with shows alongside HEAVYHEX, Soul Blind, ASkySoBlack, Pity Sex. Stand Still will also host an album listening party this Friday, June 7th at Ruby Soho’s in Lindenhurst, NY and have announced a record release show on August 24th at AMH in Amityville, NY alongside Capital (reunion), Celebrity Murderers, Sick Of Talk, Somerset Thrower, Ten Years Out. Formed in 2020, Stand Still launched with their EP, ‘A Practice In Patience’, in 2021, followed by the highly praised ‘In A Moment’s Notice’ in 2022. For ‘Steps Ascending’, the band spent over a year spending weekends traveling to Silver Bullet Studios in Connecticut to record, produce, and perfect the album with Greg Thomas before sending off for mastering with by Kris Crummett at Interlace Audio. The song structures are bright, weaved with moody lyrics and bouncy breakdowns that can be expected to hit hard in a live setting.
