RASCO (CALI AGENTS/SAN FRANCISCO/CA)
Rasco (acronimo per ‘Realistic, Ambitious, Serious, Cautious, and Organized’), è un mc di San Mateo/San Franciso, California, i cui primi dischi uscirono per la Stones Throw Records. Membro portante dei Cali Agents con Planet Asia. conquistando appunto il Independent Album of the Year Awards per ‘How the West Was One’ dando loro un contratto con la prestigiosa Interscope Records. Membro anche dei Various Blends oltre che dei Cali Agents. La sua voce profonda e diretta s’è fatta notare nel 1997 con il 12′ ‘The Unassisted’ che gli è valsa vari riconoscimento incluso il n.1 sulla Bay Area Hip-Hop Coalition chart, n.1 sulla independent hip-hop chart in Hits magazine, e n.1 sul programma radiofonico di Sway and King Tech’s Wake Up Show per ben 4 settimane. Il album di debutto, ‘Time Waits For No Man’, è uscito nel 1998 sulla prestigiosa Stones Throw con produzione di Paul Nice, Peanut Butter Wolf, e Evidence dei Dilated Peoples. Il sequel EP ‘The Birth’ arrivato nel 1999. Ha poi cosi passato alla Copasetik labael per ‘Hostile Environment’ (2001) e ‘Presents Hip-Hop Classics, Vol. 1′ (2003), nel 2004 ha poi fonadato la propria label Pocketslinted facendo uscire poi a ruota ’20,000 Leagues Under the Street, Vol. 1′ (a re-release from 2000) e ‘Minority Report’, e nel 2005 ‘The Dick Swanson Theory’ fino a recente ‘Fire & Ice’. ‘Global Threat (Pockets Linted)’ nel 2010 – ‘The Untouchables – Al Capone’s Vault’ (prod. DJ Wich) ed al recentissimo 2012 – UNITED FAKES OF AMERICA. Rasco è dotato di una voce profonda baritonale ipnotica con un approccio e storytelling diretto, che incendia le folle specie nei suoi trascinanti liveshows.
