Michael Alago is a native New York City photographer and music producer who is also recognized for signing Metallica and White Zombie, and acting as executive producer for both Nina Simone and Cyndi Lauper, to name a few.

Best known for his ‘Rough Gods’ series, he is pleased to announce an exclusive photography exhibition coming to Portland, OR this week. The exhibition will commence on July 31st with a special Artist Talk, featuring Michael Alago and Portland/NYC artist Marne Lucas. Michael will sign his new book ‘Beautiful Imperfections’ and Marne will appear with her new Mandwich male portrait series. ‘Mandwich’ model and NYC performer Chad Ferro will also be present. The Artist Talk will take place at the Portland Q Center.

Together, their color photographs of the male physique juxtapose masculinity with sentimental beauty. The expression of male psychology is made more intriguing by deeply aesthetic narratives that use references to their shared interests in fashion, music and art. On August 1st, Michael will open his gallery exhibition at Cock Gallery in Portland, OR. There will be a preview the day before for press. The exhibition is open through August 31st.
