A poche settimane dalle date del Carroponte, il 19 Aprile, i NOFX rilasceranno un nuovo disco, anzi un “Half Album” (o in mezzo disco, o meglio, un EP?).

A Maggio inizieranno dal Carroponte di Milano, con due date (quasi sold out) previste l’11 e il 12 Maggio, il loro ultimo tour che chiuderà una storia unica nel panorama musicale contemporaneo. La seminale band punk— formata da Fat Mike, Eric Melvin, Erik “Smelly” Sandin, Aaron “El Hefe” Abeyta ha deciso che è il momento giusto per fare una sorpresa ai fans, dopo le uscite di ‘Single Album’ del 2021 e ‘Double Album’ nel 2022, ora, legate a questi progetti, ecco una manciata di nuove canzoni, 5 per l’esattezza. ‘Half Album’ chiude un “cerchio”: “metti insieme quei due dischi e questo EP (scusate, questo mezzo album ndr) e otterrete quello che Fat Mike considera un vero e proprio doppio album.” Ad esempio l’ultima canzone del nuovo “mezzo” album si chiamerà ‘The Last Drag’ direttamente connessa a ‘The Big Drag’, la title track del disco ‘Single Album’. Il primo singolo estratto è ‘I’m A Rat’ (video diretto da Chris Graue @ChrisGraue, puppets di Jason Amodeo, Peter Stoia, Stephanie Spraue), scritta da Mike ma registrata per la prima volta dalla band punk giapponese Hi-Standard. I NOFX ci tengono a far sapere che ‘Half Album’ non sarà l’ultimo disco che pubblicheranno, ma si tratta di un primo step “dell’inizio della fine (o della fine dell’inizio del futuro) dei NOFX come li conosciamo”.
