EVENTS, EVENTS, EVENTS! – The month of March is full of events supported by NIKITA, so here’s the low down of what’s happening where plus event flyers attached….

Volkl Chicken Salad Girlscamp, SCUOL – 15th – 18th March 2012 – Nikita team rider / snowboarder Elena Konz and snowboard school colleague Lisa Steffelbauer came up with the idea to start a girls camp a couple of years ago, for those who want to ride with other like-minded girls and get some coaching in the park, with levels ranging from beginner to advanced. They started the project just last year with 9 girls and both of them coaching, this year there‘s already 23 girls taking part in the camp and they‘ve added another 2 coaches. They will be doing a photoshoot on the last day and be filming throughout – which they do to watch, analyze and improve their skills and of course use the footage to put together a video edit like at last year‘s event you can check the blog www.voelklchickensalad.blogspot.com

NIKITA Night at The Loop, TIGNES – this week sees the Winter X Games take over Tignes in Savoie, France. Throughout the week, from 12th-16th, Nikita will have a special preview of NIKITA Snowboards launching next Winter 2012 on display in The Loop bar, rounded off with a great NIKITA party on the Friday night with live music from daisyb and Albert (www.myspace.com/daisybmusic and www.albertjones.co.uk) plus giveaways

Chamonix Girls Zone, CHAMONIX – 20th March 2012 – this event started last year as a big day for only girls to get together and go riding in the mountains, making kickers, organising comps, providing free snowboard coaching etc and this year there will be a full day of riding in La Flégère on 20th sponsored by NIKITA – they will have an airbag comp, kickers, free courses for all the girls. The Daily Dump Snow Report will be filming and taking photos plus there will be prizes and a party with drinks at La Chavanne

Black Cats Slopestyle Contest, TIGNES – 22nd March 2012 – slopestyle comp co-organised by one of our stockists in Tignes, with podium prizes supported by Nikita

Ladies First Challenge, LEYSIN – 23rd-24th March 2012 – this event first started at the Nikita Chickita Swiss Tour from the efforts of Swiss team rider Maude Richon, who continues to organise and promote the event as the Ladies First Challenge. The final qualifying round of the Swiss girls Freestyle ski and snowboard tour sponsored by Nikita & DC takes place on 23rd and the FINAL on 24th – The five best skiers and snowboarders from the 3 star TTR qualifying rounds (previous have also taken place in Thyon on 14th Jan and Wildaus on 18th Feb) will get to participate in the FINAL, a 4 star TTR event on 24th with 7000 CHF on offer as prize money (5000 for snowboard and 2000 for ski) as well as loads of other tech prizes – more info and registration via www.ladiesfirstchallenge.ch

Playground Jam, AVORIAZ – 30th March 2012 – all girls slopestyle comp in the Chapelle Park, Avoriaz, open to snowboarders and skiers from 10am – 4pm (here‘s an overview from last year – http://playgroundjam.wordpress.com/2011/06/30/the-playground-jam-2011/)

2012 Kinky Rail Jam Clinic and Contest, CANADA – Nikita’s partnership with Rugged Riders’s Kinky Rail Jam Clinic and Contest continues this month after a series that began at Big White Ski Resort in BC back in January 2012, hitting up six locations coast to coast across Canada.
