Hailing from San Diego, CA, Mongrel combine the best elements of 90’s style death metal and hardcore into hard, heavy and grimey tracks.

After debuting in 2022 with three track ‘Off The Leash’, Mongrel release their new EP. The five tracks on the record drive from experiences of fallout, focusing on surviving the aftermath and rebuilding. The band forge their own path through the sonic landscape via their next level songwriting and playing ability. Opener ‘Tight Rope Walk’ hits hard with a blistering riff supported by ferocious blast beats and guttural vocals. On title track, the band leans into the thrashier elements of their sound, ripping through 2:10 of fury punctuated by a solo that will garner the respect of any true shredder. ‘Wreckage In Our Path’ is two-minute long song bursting with hefty riffs right off the bat before pulsating into a primal scream of overcoming hardship. Each track on the release offers a taste of the greatness of 90′s hardcore, metal and heavy music, while bringing something all together original to the table. EP was mixed and mastered by Dan Swano at Unisound with guitars and vocals recorded with Taylor Young at The Pit and drums with Alex Jacobeli at Sunsick Studios.
