DEBUT ALBUM ‘WOULD YOU MISS IT?’ DUE OUT SEPTEMBER 29 VIA PURE NOISE RECORDS.

Long Island upstarts Koyo are gearing up for the release of their debut full-length, ‘Would You Miss It?’, and they’re back with another massive new single, ‘Message Like A Bomb’ featuring none other than Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw and Head Automatica. Vocalist Joey Chiaramonte discussed working with Palumbo on the new song, saying:

“‘Message Like A Bomb’ is a sweet ballad, anthemic track, with some real venom layered underneath it. It’s a song fueled by my distaste for a lot of the things I see around me as the band grows in scope and size, as well as the scene surrounding us does the same. I’m not the hater type, but whatever hater energy exists in me is laced into this song. This song also gave us the opportunity to have Daryl Palumbo do a feature on the track and that’s been surreal. Glassjaw is one of my favorite bands, and Daryl is one of the greatest creatives of my lifetime, or at least that’s how I feel. We reached out to him about this feature, kinda taking a shot in the dark about a year prior to it actually happening, and he responded all that time later out of nowhere completely down to do it. His swag, character, and nuance, is now baked and layered into various parts of the track. The final mix via Jon Markson left me speechless. It’s been an honor beyond any words I could assemble to have him on this track.”

Due out September 29th from Pure Noise Records, ‘Would You Miss It?’ is an unabashedly heart-on-sleeve blend of punk, hardcore and emo, that makes for a modern coming-of-age classic fit for any generation of listeners.

Emerging from the Long Island underground with members of Typecaste, Hangman, Rain Of Salvation, Koyo hit the ground running with a sonic style that fully embraces the sound of their legendary scene. Drawing on elements like the widescreen melodies of Taking Back Sunday or the tuneful grit of Silent Majority, the band have managed to wear their influences proudly while cultivating songwriting chops that speak for themselves. ‘Would You Miss Is?’ was recorded by Markson (Drug Church, Taking Meds, One Step Closer) and his deft production sounds gigantic without sacrificing the basement show rawness of Koyo‘s sound. It’s an album that figuratively and literally brings together the past and present of East Coast punk, with appearances from Palumbo, The Movielife/I Am The Avalanche’s Vinnie Caruana, Vein.FM’s Anthony DiDio.
