KING WOMAN RELEASE NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR ‘MANNA’
King Woman has released a stirring new music video for ‘Manna’, which was filmed in the depths of a forest using stark black-and-white filters.
The Huemidhaus-directed video delves into its namesake “manna,” a miracle sustenance that was introduced in the Book of Exodus. As artful as it is spiritual, the video is a stunning addition to the King Woman dogma.
The track is pulled from King Woman’s masterful debut album ‘Created In The Image Of Suffering’, which was released earlier this year via Relapse Records. Harnessing the texture and temporality of drone alongside the transcendental, melancholic power of metal, King Woman forges world swallowing doom rock. ‘Created In The Image Of Suffering’ was recorded with engineer Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Wreck & Reference, Oathbreaker) at the Atomic Garden in Palo Alto, CA. Met with wide critical acclaim, King Woman‘s redemptive debut is still sending shockwaves across 2017’s musical landscape.
Each of ‘Created In The Image Of Suffering’s 8 songs evokes gloomy, biblical leaning imagery with hazy, psychedelic atmospheres scarred with bristling swaths of distortion. Calling to mind a a surrealistic Black Sabbath fronted by Hope Sandoval, King Woman crafts deeply cathartic pieces that channel religious and mental torment. There has never been any doubt that King Woman truly suffer to create their art.
