Volcom Stone’s Jellyfish Surf Series Casino Pier, NJ

Mother Nature hasn’t let us successfully run a Jellyfish Surf Series event on the Jersey shore in over a year and a half, so when we pulled up to the beach we weren’t sure what she had in store for us. It turns out she took pity on us, giving us solid 4-6 ft offshore surf and a beautiful sunny day.

World famous Casino Pier is Home to Jerseys finest fist pumpers! Once the competitors were all signed up we sent the Juniors into the water, sounded the horn and got the day started. Everything moved along perfect and before we knew it was lunchtime and the burritos from Chipotle had arrived. The kids played with pickles and flour, the Squids had their hands full with what looked to be triple overhead surf, and in a blink of an eye we were in the finals. Here is a recap from the days shenanigans!

Pat Schmidt surfed like a freak all day and earned the Electric Volt Thrower 100.00 and the Junior division $250.00 victory!

Mike Gleason and Clay Pollioni were just some of the heavy hitters that made the trip to Casino Pier and Stoneman was there to greet them all!

Pulses from Hurricane Ophelia pushed through some pretty heavy clean up sets and some near perfect rights!

There were some meaty sections to work with as well as some meaty mayonnaise!

The waves were a sold 4-6 ft and these Squids took a pounding, but they never complained!

Vince Boulenger surfed his way to a solid 4th place in the Pro-Am division.

Rob Kelly making the trip up from way down south, turned out to be well worth it earning a 2nd place finish and a spot at VQS Champs!

Casino Pier has the craziest stuff on the boardwalk!

Sam Hammer is easily one of the best surfers in the Northeast and proved it by taking the victory and $500.00 in cash!

The crowd gathers to see who is going to walk with the money and prizes also to watch Sam Hammer get his present!
