Born and raised on the tough streets of Red Hook, Brooklyn, in the 1960s Jamel Shabazz picked up a camera by the sweet age of 15 and started documenting the vibrant street life that surrounded him.

With ‘Reflections from the 80s’ Cologne based Hardhitta Gallery is now presenting its first exhibition of the American photographer, that showcases these early, iconic images, that give a unique insight in street culture at that time. The solo show is on display until March 29th.
