Into It. Over It. share new single ‘A Trip Around The Sun’
Via Storm Chasers LTD & Big Scary Monsters. UK tour dates with Sweet Pill & Tangled Hair announced.
Chicago-based indie emo rock band Into It. Over It. have released new single ‘A Trip Around The Sun’ via Big Scary Monsters & Storm Chasers LTD. The single follows news that the band will be heading to the UK with Philadelphia-based emo band Sweet Pill to play their first live dates as a full-band since 2016. The band have also announced that South London three piece Tangled Hair will be joining the bill. New single is a song about self care and personal balance. “It’s about recognising a very real need to spend quality time with friends doing remote friend things. Letting loose. Bonding. Being a certain kind of yourself. This all so you can go back to your daily life and be the most complete version of yourself. More specifically it’s about my friend’s bachelor party and an adventure in the mountains with my absolute fuckin’ dudes” explains singer and guitarist Evan Thomas Weiss. Into It. Over It. emerged on the scene in 2007. The brainchild of an already prolific songwriter Evan Thomas Weiss, the project’s introspective lyrics and dynamic sound have garnered a dedicated following and critical acclaim. As of 2020, Weiss is joined by emmy-nominated film composer Joe George on guitar, Adam Beck (Sincere Engineer) on drums and Matthew Frank (Lifted Bells, Their / They’re / There) on bass. Into It. Over It. was meant to be a one-off project writing and releasing one song per week for a year (52 Weeks), which quickly turned into a flourishing career aimed to create art and build community. The name “Into It. Over It.” itself embodies the band’s essence, reflecting the dichotomy between passion and contemplation that is at the core of their music.
