Ingrown share stomping new single ‘Watch Your Back’
Salad Days

New album ‘Idaho’ due out 03/07 via Closed Casket Activities.

Hardcore’s favorite dirt-bike-riding, gun-toting, hell-raising heavyweights, Ingrown, Boise’s loudest and most vicious export have shared its latest single ‘Watch Your Back’. The stomping new track follows ‘Bullet’ and ‘Enemy’ and packs more neck-breaking riffs into one 90 second track than most bands do in an entire album. Vocalist/guitarist Ross Hansen discussed the new song, saying “It’s about remembering to want what you already have and appreciate who’s there for you. Listen to the people closest to you when you are lost. When you let mental instability take you down the wrong path by believing the tricks it can play, it will only push you away from everyone you have unless the proper hard work is done for yourself.” Recorded by Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos, Inclination, Pain Of Truth, Jesus Piece) ‘Idaho’ pushes Ingrown‘s sound even further into the red. Through eleven songs in just 18 minutes, the album swings between pummeling heaviness and lightning fast speed, drawing on the technicality of death metal and thrash without losing the essential rawness of hardcore and powerviolence. LP is an ode to band’s home state and the indelible impact living there has had on the band members. There’s guns, bikes, and self-reliance, but that’s just one side of Ingrown’s coin. The group’s genuine love for their local community and the people in it permeates ‘Idaho’, lending a surprisingly earnest and heartfelt touch to a record that also makes you want to smash your head through a brick wall.
