Element Barcelona featuring the Freditano Project – The Recap
With the launch of the Freditano project, Element presented a three-day long event series, named Element Barcelona, celebrating Skateboarding and the Arts in one of the most iconic European skate cities, Barcelona.
Element hosted several events and an art workshop, taking place from 25th – 27th April 2019. Kicking off the event series at Tactic Skate Shop in the center of Barcelona with the release of limited skateboard decks created with French Fred. Hundreds of people gathered to watch a fun launch ramp session with the Element Pro team. Those who missed this, had the chance to skate with the team the next day at Barcelona’s skate spot MACBA. In the evening there was a private party with a screening of the skate video, that was filmed during the previous last ten days in Barcelona. After the screening everyone was caught by surprise with Element’s latest global Pro announcement: the Finnish rider Jaakko Ojanen.
At the center of Element Barcelona featuring the Freditano project was an art workshop with French Fred and Fernando Elvira: 12 students were selected through an instagram contest and during three days they worked on their own interpretation of the Freditano Project. Together with artist Fernando Elvira and photographer French Fred they created a mash-up of their photos, shot with French Fred in Barcelona and mixed with cut- out art technics, inspired by Fernando Elvira. On the last day of the Element Barcelona event series, Element hosted an art exhibition to showcase all artworks of the 12 students. Besides drinks, finger food and DJ, a screen-printing activation was installed to give away custom tees to everyone. Another highlight of the evening was a live performance by Element Advocate Ray Barbee.
