DRAB MAJESTY RELEASES OTHERWORLDLY COVER OF ‘NO RAIN’
Their take on the 1992 hit single is streaming to coincide with Bandcamp’s No Fees initiative now.
“…rooted in classic ‘80s-influenced dance grooves and alternative rock: it’s pop music, built like a classic John Hughes soundtrack.” – Bandcamp
With three groundbreaking albums released in the last five years, Deb Demure and collaborator Mona D. have established Drab Majesty amongst the pantheon of synth-pop greats, establishing a devoted fan base worldwide with their singular hypnotic sound and mysterious, constantly-evolving presence. Nearly a year since the release of their celebrated third album, ‘Modern Mirror’, Deb Demure returns with something unexpected from the archives: a cover of Blind Melon’s 1992 hit ‘No Rain’. A bedroom recording committed to 4-track back in 2013 and mastered for release by Josh Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv), ‘No Rain’ is the perfect soundtrack for uncertain times, seen through Demure’s ethereal kaleidoscope of sound. ‘No Rain’ is available today on Bandcamp (with all proceeds going directly to the artist), and will stream on digital platforms worldwide as of May 4th.
