Comgrats Dusty, Coco & Pedro! – Volcom destroys boredom at the 2011 US Open
Comgrats Dusty, Coco & Pedro! – Volcom Destroys Boredom at the 2011 US Open
So yet another US Open of Surfing went down last week in Huntington Beach, CA… As expected, there were immense crowds consisting mostly of surf enthusiasts, sweaty tourists, and barely legal girls wearing nothing but bikinis and spray-paint. Spectators were treated to world class surfing in halfway decent waves, skateboarding at the Coastal Carnage bowl jam, a few concerts, some BMX, fashion shows, and a whole lot of advertising…The Volcom team was there in full force, Destroying Boredom wherever they went! Big high fives go out to Volcom surf superstars Dusty Payne and Coco Ho who both made it to the semi-finals in men’s and women’s surfing! More congratulations are in order for Volcom pro skater Pedro Barros for snagging second place overall in the Coastal Carnage bowl jam! General awesomeness was portrayed by all of our participating athletes and team members, well done! On the other side of the highway the Volcom fun continued. Our new yellow Cadillac cruised the streets and definitely turned some heads after its little “accident.” There was a march of Stone-Men mascots who stirred up all sorts of trouble to the delight of anybody nearby with a camera. Fans young and old mobbed to the Volcom tents outside of HSS and Jack’s Surfboards to get autographs from their favorite athletes who put their moniker on everything from posters, to clothing to… um, other things… We would like to thank all of you who came out and showed your support. Keep an eye out for Volcom at the next US Open of Surfing, we will be there spreading pure fun and destroying boredom for years to come…
