Berlin, Germany. (Feb 23, 2023) – Vans and Civilist have joined forces again for an elevated take on the classic Skate Half Cab.

The collaboration draws inspiration from the black, winter nights of Berlin with its dark blue skies and fleeting reflections of passing cars and streetlights. The only thing always visible in the depths of winter in Civilist’s hometown city is the TV tower with its blinking lights. Look up and you’ll most likely also see some black shoes hanging off the train cables.

With these details in mind, they have designed an all-black Skate Half Cab with premium nylon uppers and an allover jacquard pattern. A dark blue foxing stripe nods to the winter sky and there’s a hint of hiking inspiration with hiking laces and a lace cinch for easier lacing. Just like the lights of the TV tower, details including the C and B on the original Half Cab logo (representing Civilist Berlin), will stand out and catch your eye under certain conditions.

The footwear collection will be available exclusively at Civilist from Feb 25th and online from Feb 26th.
