Intent on championing the freshest undiscovered talent, Firepower is proud to present the debut EP from US-based duo Carvar & Clock as their next release. Already receiving support from the likes of Noisia, Koan Sound and Reso, as well as airplay on Radio1, this duo is fast making waves, and when you hear the EP it will become clear why. Title-track ‘Miskatonik’ has quickly placed Carvar & Clock, AKA Dominic Strandemo and Dustin Lenz, firmly in the spotlight. Blending the low-slung drum swagger of hip hop with a gnarled apocalyptic bassline and ominous atmospheres to match, its fresh approach has deservedly been winning praise from all corners of the scene. Second track ‘SYZYGY’ provides a worthy sparring partner on the EP, taking the same touchstones and rewiring them with its jarring drum line and distorted bass onslaught. Returning to Firepower from the recent ‘Caffeine EP’, Must Die! adds his unique touch to ‘Miskatonik’, bringing a dramatic metal-edge to the track with chugging guitars and jackhammer drums while UK producer Joe Ford is also called in on remix duty, bringing his crisp, techy flavor to the original with watertight drums, cut up breaks and swelling bass.
