Be Well look back in anthemic, melodic new single ‘I Will Leave You With This’
‘Hello Sun’ EP out May 20th on Revelation Records
Be Well have shared ‘I Will Leave You With This’, the second single from their forthcoming EP, ‘Hello Sun’, out May 20th on Revelation Records. On the anthemic ‘I Will Leave You With This’ frontman and lifelong musician/producer Brian McTernan spends a rare moment taking stock of his career. The video for the song reflects on these memories through photos and video from his Salad Days Studio, showing footage not only from recording ‘Hello Sun’, but from working with bands like Circa Survive, Turnstile, Thrice, Bane, Fireworks, Strike Anywhere and Praise just to name a few. McTernan states that his newly found view has been healing and inspiring:
“One of the most incredible things about putting out the first Be Well record, and doing interviews, was talking to people about the impact that the records that I’ve spent my life making had on their lives. I had never fully processed how meaningful it was. That might sound crazy, but I had only really held on to the negatives in a lot of ways. At my darkest times, I felt like I had wasted my life. I am now able to look back and see that I was a part of something way bigger than me. I played a role in helping artists that I respect beyond words create things that will live forever. How did I never allow myself to take any joy in that? ‘I Will Leave You With This’ is a defiant song, to myself in a way, like, “I’m not ever gonna lose that perspective”.”
Serving as a followup to the band’s critically acclaimed ‘The Weight And The Cost’ (2020), ‘Hello Sun’ is full of high-energy, melodic hardcore infused with emotion and lyrical depth. Across the six songs on the record, frontman and producer Brian McTernan finds emotional catharsis through examination of childhood trauma, depression, and fatherhood while still providing a hopeful light. Rounding out the band are guitarists Mike Schleibaum (Darkest Hour) and Peter Tsouras (Fairweather), bassist Aaron Dalbec (Bane), and drummer Shane Johnson (Fairweather), making for an all-star line-up. ‘Hello Sun’ is available for digital and physical pre-order now through Revelation Records. Be Well has also partnered with End Hits Records for a vinyl release of the record in Europe. To support the EP release, the band has an extensive touring schedule coming up this year, including shows with New Found Glory, Four Year Strong, Earth Crisis, Snapcase, Strife, BoySetsFire, Hot Water Music and Samiam.
