Anxious share new single ‘Never Said’

Anxious share new single ‘Never Said’
Salad Days

Connecticut punk favorites, Anxious, are gearing up for their highly anticipated sophomore album, due out this Friday February 21st via Run For Cover Records…

and they’re sharing one more single ahead of the big day: the gigantic album opener ‘Never Said’. LP follows Anxious‘ acclaimed 2022 full-length, ‘Little Green House’, and finds the band fully embracing the widescreen alternative rock songwriting they’ve always hinted at. It’s a record of growth and depth that’s sonically ambitious while further amplifying the seamless combination of hardcore grit and classic emo dynamism that’s made them such a beloved young band. Earlier singles ‘Some Girls’, ‘Counting Sheep’ and ‘Head & Spine’ have introduced listeners to Anxious‘ exciting next chapter and ‘Never Said’ keeps the big guitars and bigger melodies coming. ‘Bambi’ is the sound of Anxious putting everything on the line and coming out on the other side better than ever. Vocalist Grady Allen discussed the new track saying:

“In our music subculture, there often seems to be this dynamic where people stay close to others regardless of the fact of whether they really like them or not. You hear subtle whispers and rumors about what people really think of you, but those feelings are never expressed to you directly. It’s an exhausting social dynamic and one that I am desperate to let go of. ‘Never Said’‘s lyrics focus on that idea. The song came about super weirdly and indirectly. I went over to Dante‘s house last winter and we just started shooting this riff back and forth. We started frankenstein-ing new parts onto it over several months and eventually it just sort of fell into what it was. It was a cool process- we rarely write that way. It was fun to just sort of keep throwing things together and see what happened.”

‘Bambi’ tracklist:
1. Never Said
2. Bambi’s Theme
3. Some Girls
4. Counting Sheep
5. Audrey Go Again
6. Head & Spine
7. Tell Me Why
8. Sunder
