Encinitas, CA – As if the Nixon X Disney collaboration could get any better, the California-based, watch and accessories brand is thrilled to announce the release of…

…a special limited edition of their Mickey Mouse Collection that was designed by celebrated artist Steven Harrington. This is the latest announcement in Nixon’s partnership with Disney as part of the worldwide “Mickey the True Original” campaign to honor Mickey’s 90th birthday. With this custom limited edition, two watches capture the inspired-artist side of Mickey Mouse. Only 100 each of these timepieces were made and each is numbered, making them true collector’s items.

The Artist
Focusing on the lighter side, Steven Harrington brings his wacky kaleidoscope creations to this legendary icon’s birthday. The LA based artist, cited as the leader of the contemporary Californian psychedelic-pop aesthetic, says that his bold, cartoonish style encourages a two-way conversation between artist and viewer. The Mickey Mouse watch is a historic design that was one of the first pieces of merchandising for Disney way back in 1933. Since then there have been many takes on the Mickey Mouse timepiece and it only seemed right that such an iconic, colorful artist have a turn.

The Watches
This numbered run of 100 each limited-edition watches will be available in Nixon flagship stores and on the Disney Store, from December 1st.
