The track is anything but one dimensional as enraged vocals from Dave Wallace are met by infectious cleans from James Becca.

Riffs provided by Becca and guitarist Anthony Buck exemplify the band’s disposition to get crazy and technical all at once, and serve as a highlight of the track. Lyrics cry a declaration against a system of lies. This is met by a video of religious themed clips strewn between gritty basement shot footage of the band to accompany the single. On writing the track, Wallace shares:

“The lyrics to this song kind of came to me in a dream. And by that, I mean I woke up in the middle of the night and started writing them down for some reason. The next morning, I clicked on a random demo in our folder and fit all the pieces together. The song is about a small portion of my feelings on organized religions and their gods.”

Forming a friendship over Tumblr as teens in the 2010s, Dave Wallace (vocals) and James Becca (vocals, guitars) eventually met in real life and would go on to form fallfiftyfeet in 2020, debuting with their album ‘Twisted World Perspective’ in 2021. In 2022 the band released the three song EP, ‘Lonely If You Go’, later followed up by a 2024 split with Wounded Touch. fallyfiftyfeet’s do-it-yourself ethic has found them playing shows across lesser known cities in the US, while also sharing stages with the likes of Underoath and Seeyouspacecowboy. 2025 will be fallfiftyfeet’s biggest year yet with more music and touring on the way.
