Massive Nightmares release ‘Back To The Beach’
The indie-punk group out of Massachusetts that includes members of Great Lakes USA, No Trigger, and Save Ends have put together quite a debut and ‘Back To The Beach’ is just the tip of the iceberg.
Summer might be winding down, but Massive Nightmares are going ‘Back To The Beach’ on their newest single. Working with producer Trevor Reilly (A Wilhelm Scream), Massive Nightmares’ self-titled debut EP is anthemic and captures lightning in a bottle. Formed in the fall of 2023, indie-punk band Massive Nightmares is composed of members of bands Great Lakes USA, No Trigger, Save Ends and David New Joy. After a brief stint as three piece, friend (and being in as many bands as possible, addict) Tom Ciesluk joined on bass, rounding out the four-piece with Myke Doyle on drums, Alex Heinz on lead guitar and Pat Lavalle moving over to rhythm guitar, helping to achieve a riff-heavy mix of hooks and harmonies. Massive Nightmares blends influences from melodic 2000’s punk with 80’s indie and alternative reminiscent of The Lemonheads meets The Bronx. In February of 2024, band recorded their debut self-titled EP with engineer and guitarist of A Wilhelm Scream, Trevor Reilly at Anchor End Studio in New Bedford, across from world-famous bar and restaurant Sixes and Sevens. This first EP showcases a powerful blend of indie, punk, and pop that’s catchy and emotionally resonant. As described by Joe Reilly, Trevor’s dad and the engineer who mastered the EP “The more I listen to it the more hooks I hear… great background harmonies and ear candy. Not a weak track on this record. Awesome production.”
