Crossed Keys premiere ‘Victim Complex” from ‘Believes In You’
Philadelphia’s own Crossed Keys is back with a new full length and your first glimpse of what they’ve cooked up. FFO: Samiam, The Loved Ones, Grey Area, Bouncing Souls
There’s something very special about this band and a lot more people are going to be in on the secret once they hear ‘Believes In You’. Featuring former members of Kid Dynamite, Good Riddance and Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer, Crossed Keys is built on a rich foundation of Philadelphia and New Jersey DIY history. The band offers a fresh take on the music that inspired them while attending shows at VFW halls, basements, and even venues that are memories of the past. Their new single ‘Victim Complex’ is a Descendents-esque song about a lack of accountability. Vocalist, Joshua Alvarez says “‘Believes In You’ is a collection of songs with the common theme of supporting the people around you. The opening track, ‘Victim Complex’, is about the lack of accountability in a time when narratives are so easily manipulated to suit those who hurt people.” ‘Believes In You’ was recorded at Retro City Studios by Andy Clarke (Spirit Of The Beehive, The Wonder Years) and Dave Klyman (Restorations). Vocals were recorded by Brian McTernan (Hot Water Music, Be Well) and the entire album was mixed by Steve Evetts (Saves The Day, Dillinger Escape Plan). It will be released by Dead Satellite Records, Creep Records and Sell The Heart Records on Friday, May 5th.
Crossed Keys has played venues all over the northeast, supporting bands such as H2O, Dave Hause & The Mermaid, Be Well, The Lillingtons, Good Riddance, Shades Apart, Strike Anywhere. We know the last few years have been tough for everyone. It takes a little extra effort just to get out of bed. Recognizing that we’re all in this together, CROSSED KEYS BELIEVES IN YOU.
